CCC Week 12 - Chipped Enamel

Wow - Week 12 of the Compendium of Curiosity Challenge over at Linda's Studio L3 . If you've been living under a rock, or absolutely LOVE Tim Holtz, and are just stumbling upon my blog - check it out. This week, the challenge is ????. Guess you've got to check out Linda's blog to get the details. I decided since it is fall in other areas of the world, (Still over 100 degrees here in the desert) I would get into the Halloween Spirit. I used a texture fade (Damask) on the tag. Covered with Dusty Concord DI. The stamps are all from Art Impressions (BTW - if anyone knows where to find this amazing haunted house stamp - let me know. I've searched high and low). The metal embellishments were from my ancient collection tags, eyelets, etc.... I edged the stamped images with tea dye DI, and smeared dusty concord distress stickles. These are SO fun - no mess like embossing powder, but add a little shimmer. So - it was another very fun afternoon creating....

CCC Week 11 - Blended Batik

Can you believe we are on week 11? Each technique is more and more fun. I can't tell you the technique - per Linda's rules over Studio L3, but I can tell you that I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and a new stamp I just got from Outlines Rubber Stamps. I am really enjoying this. What is amazing to me is that there are stampers from all over the world participating. I have never been a part of something like this before. I am thankful for all the beautiful art we get to share each week. Have a great week everyone!

CCC Week 10 - Distress Stickles

What happened to week 9? OBE - Overcome by events - and my attempts failed miserably. But - this week - I just love the stickles. All my friends will tell you - I HATE embossing powder - it goes everywhere, glitter drives me nuts - but...Stickles stay put - they shimmer, and I love them I used Pewter and Rock Candy. As I've noticed everyone else stating - gee - they just don't show up well on the photos. Enjoy - and I'll see you next week.

Week 8 CCC Challenge - Inking Grunge

I rushed home today to finally log on and see what Linda has in store for us in the Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities Challenge. This week was Page 39, Inking Grunge. Flowers are my weakness - I just love them, any time of the year. Today I used some of the grunge flowers in the TIm Holtz Nature Grunge Collection. I used Peeled Paint on the tag. Enjoy...

CCC Week 7 - Tinted Fragments

Oh, This was such fun. I didn't have any vintage photos, but found a great stash of collage sheets from Paula at Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers. Since I live in the 'wild wild west' I used that for my theme this week. This week's challenge was to use Tim Holtz Tinted Fragments technique. You know the drill by now - we can encourage you to buy the book and learn the techniques...but we aren't allowed to share any details..So what are you waiting for -

CCC Week 6 Multi-Medium Collage

This is week 6 of Linda's Studio L3 challenge. The technique this week is Multi-medium collage. I was so glad I had some very old books in my collection that I found at a garage sale years ago. I started by covering a butterfly from the Tim Holtz Grungeboard Nature set. I colored it with Spiced Marmalade DI. The tag was colored with Faded Jeans Distress Ink. I really enjoyed this weeks challenge. Once I got started, it was hard to stop making the embellishments. I think they will start popping up in later challenges... Check out the challenge here: Linda at Studio L3

CCC Week 5 - Distress Embossing

Week 5 of the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge put on by Linda at Studio 3. This week was Page 43 from Tim Holtz's Book. All my friends will tell you - I hate embossing powder. Never use it, never buy it.... until Tim Holtz made this amazing powder. I have to admit - the crystals don't 'release' like I had hoped, but I tried and tried. Loved it loved it, and did not mind cleaning up the mess a bit - (for you Shelann).

Pears: Innovative Stamp creations - DaVinci Pears. Distress Inks - Peeled Paint and Mustard Seed. Vintage Photo Embossing Powder.

If you haven't joined the challenge - please please check it out - it is such fun and gets the creative juices flowing!
